Relating this news to the ZenFone 7, it’s entirely likely that once ASUS unveils the ZenFone 7, there may be a quick pre order to “buy now” phase. Units will likely be ready to ship if this ROG Phone 3 launch is any indicator. We certainly hope there isn’t a big lag between the ZenFone 7 unveiling and buying opportunities.
Regarding the ROG Phone 3, it’s a big phone, but it has a monster 6,000mAh battery that is going to get you 2 days worth of use before needing to recharge. From every early review, the audio from the stereo speakers is the best that can be found on any mobile phone on the planet. So if you like to watch movies more than gaming, the ROG Phone 3 is going to be an impressive audio experience.
Design wise the ROG Phone 3 is similar to last year which means the accessories mostly transfer from the ROG Phone 2 to the new model phone. That’s a bonus!
With the 5G and large battery, ASUS didn’t include a headphone jack simply because there was not the space inside the phone. However, there is an included dongle/adapter and the included fan accessory has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
The display is stellar with a 2340 x 1080 resolution on a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel. It has a refresh rate up to 144 Hz! Everything else is an upgrade from last year as you might expect. Faster everything and cameras have seen a substantial improvement as well.
I know the earlier rumours suggested the ZenFone 7 series would be cheaper than the ROG Phone 3. Does anyone think the ZenFone 7 Pro could actually be cheaper? Maybe the leaker was talking base model only??
