Here we go! August 17th is the official launch date in Taiwan. This will be the first look for the globe at the Zenfone 4 series. Everyone else of course will need to wait their turn for their own country’s launch event, however early birds can get a Zenfone 4 off eBay very soon.
Second Taiwan Zenfone 4 teaser image unveiled. Can you guess who it is?
We get it now! It’s a guessing game contest. The person in the teaser images is going to be the Asus Zenfone 4 spokesperson for the APAC market. We don’t want to spoil a surprise, but remember this article from Sogi.com.tw?
So certainly the past couple of days are showing a lot of Zenfone 4 activity and we don’t expect things to slow down any time soon!
The Zenfone 4 Pro was spotted out in the wild and the Zenfone 4 Max has already show itself via Asus Russia. Let’s hope a few secrets are left for the actual unveil event!

Spotted in the wild! Zenfone 4 with Snapdragon 835. Is it the Pro?
Update: Indeed, this is the Zenfone 4 Pro.
Thanks to Roland Quandt, a new Zenfone 4 has been spotted in the wild. We aren’t talking about the already unveiled Zenfone 4 Max either. This is what appears to be a premium model that is sporting the latest Snapdragon 835 processor.
For this testing on the live network, a new generation ASUS smartphone was used – TIM Press Release
It’s very had to find details from the images available. In fact it does look like this phone is in a bumper case. Is it even a final version in terms of design even? We don’t know. Roland claims it’s the Zenfone 4 Pro, although we can’t find any reference anywhere on the web to back up or support that claim. Roland didn’t source his information regarding the naming of this model.
We like the finger print sensor on the front!
A better look!
What we do know is that this Zenfone is a new generation. That indicates a Zenfone 4 here. Also confirmed is that this phone features a Snapdragon 835 processor along with an LTE X16 integrated modem and Ericsson’s LTE-Licensed Assisted Access network technology.
The reason for this “in the wild” exposure is because it was used as part of a Qualcomm presentation in Italy which showed some record LTE speeds. Gigabit LTE folks.
Philippines gets official Zenfone 4 launch date
Make no mistake about it. This recent Facebook post by Asus Philippines is the date of the Zenfone 4 launch. It’s August 19th at the SMX convention center Pasay. If you disbelieve this could be the Zenfone 4 launch then I suggest you look at the icon symbol at the bottom of the announcement image which is 100% associated with the Zenfone 4 series.
Here is the snippet Asus including with this announcement:
Dear CitiZENS —
SOON TO RISE:
An unforgettable, incredible urban exploration.
Everyone is welcome!
#WeLovePhotoPH
So clearly the Zenfone 4 is talking a lot of photo. It’s just not clear to what extent this excites Asus consumers. As a brand though, a top notch photography camera gets Asus into the Apple, Samsung and Google conversation as those three brands arguably have the best cameras around.
We hope that in the next few days some renders or more details about the range of Zenfone 4 models becomes a bit more clear. Either that or we actually have to wait for the Taiwan unveil before we know more everything about the new phones!

New Asus Zenfone 4 teaser image out of Taiwan
Taiwan is getting first dibs on the Zenfone 4 series which is standard practice for Asus. Taiwan will get first and most availability. This means come August or the date the phones hit stores in Taiwan, you can buy one via eBay. Network compatibility is a consideration of course, but you don’t necessarily have to wait the month or months for a release in your own country.
So here is the teaser image:
Whelp, hard to gleam anything other than we get to see the Zenfone 4 logo, possibly for the second time officially from Asus. From translation on Asus Taiwan Facebook, it’s part of some contest. It may be something to do with getting an invite to the launch event. There are 7.5K comments on the post so yes, clearly there is a giveaway or prize associate with this.
